Leslie Julien

With over 26 years of experience as a mathematics educator, Leslie has had the privilege of teaching and tutoring students across a wide range of mathematical subjects—from Pre-Algebra to Differential Equations. His approach to teaching is grounded in the belief that all students can learn, and that with the right type of inspiration, they can be mentored not only academically, but socially as well as personally.

Additionally, Mr. Julien is a dedicated martial artist. He holds the title of Sifu, 6th Duan, and he is a 9th-generation closed-door disciple under 8th-generation lineage holder, Sifu Raul Ortiz, in Seven Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu. Leslie is internationally certified and sanctioned to teach this traditional art, with direct lineage and recognition from Hong Kong, China.

Leslie strives to bring together his two passions—mathematics and martial arts—to create unique, real-world connections for students. By blending analytical thinking with the discipline and philosophy of Kung Fu, he aims to inspire students to see beyond textbooks and screens, encouraging them to make global connections through the universal languages of math and culture.
