Bridgett Burroughs

Bridgett is a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, and a visionary entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare. Her impressive career spans clinical practice, business ownership, and community service. She is the founder and operator of a daycare center, a nonprofit organization, and a CLIA-certified laboratory—each reflecting her passion for holistic care, education, and health equity.

Her nursing career began in Gastroenterology under the mentorship of a distinguished colon and rectal surgeon, where she developed a strong clinical foundation. She later brought her expertise to the high-pressure environment of the North Shore LIJ Emergency Department, where she played a critical role in saving lives and delivering compassionate, high-stakes care. Recognizing the importance of continuity in patient wellness, she expanded her practice to include in-home care by day while continuing her ER shifts by night—ensuring patients were supported through every stage of recovery.

Bridgett’s commitment to service came full circle when she was invited to work within the Hempstead school district (NY), the very community that helped shape her. Accepting this role allowed her to invest in the next generation, offering not only medical support but mentorship and inspiration.
