My Story

Dr. Jackson obtained her bachelor’s degree from Hampton University, and went on to earn two master’s degrees from Mercy College and the College of New Rochelle. Her commitment to continuous growth and education culminated in the completion of her doctorate from St. John’s University.

Throughout her career, Dr. Jackson has displayed a passionate interest in addressing the educational disparities faced by boys of color and actively working towards closing the achievement gap. Her groundbreaking study, “A Mother’s Love: Factors that Contribute to African-American Male’s High Achievement,” sheds light on the impactful role of parenting styles and strategies in fostering academic success in Black males. Recognizing the urgent need for advocacy, Dr. Jackson proudly considers herself an advocate for Black and Brown male students.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Jackson finds solace in the world of literature. She is an avid reader and a talented writer of poetry, using her creative outlets as expressions of her innermost thoughts and emotions.
